Wee Tiny Sock

Dear Mum,

I completed the Wee Tiny Sock yesterday. It's so cute and I'm planning on making it into a key chain. I used some of the leftover Lorna's Laces from the Chevron Scarf.

Finished the Chevron Scarf

Dear Mom,

I've finished the Chevron Scarf and I totally love the colours...I'm a pink kinda girl *lol*

The facts

Since the Danish weather sucks I've been indoors a lot - knitting, reading and watching Tour de France. I must admit that the last one is turning into more of a soap opera than a sports event *shaking head*. Michael Rasmussen, who had the yellow jersey, was kicked out of the race and fired from his team today. Rules are rules, and apparently Rasmussen has broken a lot of rules lately, so in that context it's totally fair that he's been abandoned from the race. However, it's a shame for the race and I find it hard to believe that cycling will ever become a clean sport.

At the moment I'm reading "Brother Odd" by Dean Koontz and even though I haven't finished it yet, I will warmly recommend the whole "Odd Thomas" series to anybody who likes a good story.

Harry Potter

Dear Mum,

Like you, I've been reading all weekend, and last night I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

DON'T READ ON IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED THE BOOK YET!

In my opinion the book should have ended on page 564 with two deaths instead of one. I think J.K. Rowling took the easy way out and ended the tale of Harry Potter like Danielle Steel would have done it. It's not because I'm against happy endings, but a "19 years later all is well and dandy"-ending just doesn't work for me - not with all the stuff Harry and his friends has been through. Through 6 books and 6 years we've feared the mighty Voldemort, and in the final book he is reduced to an ignorant fool. Why did everybody have so much respect for him, if he was this stupid all along? Seriously, I believe that J. K. Rowling just didn't have the guts to end it for both Harry and Voldemort - all the gibberish about "the one can't live without the other" is rubbish and didn't mean a thing then?.  Why kill a character that is making good money? No, then we'd rather kill Dobby! I'm really disappointed with how it ended. The first 564 pages were all right, but the last 50 pages...it's like watching a movie and when it ends, you just now that a sequel has already been planned for. I have a feeling that an eight book is coming in a few years...or books about the children of Harry + Ginny and Ron + Hermione.

I'm sorry about my tart remark and the next post will be about knitting :o)

Another victim of MS3

Dear Mom,

Wow! Your last FO looks AMAZING! I love the soft colours. Beautiful.

A lot of knitters (over 6,000) has joined the Mystery Stole 3 along. I didn't mean to, but I couldn't help myself...I HAD TO JOIN! I finished clue #1 today and here's how it looks:

The first picture shows the correct colour. The yarn is Kauni 8/2 and I'm knitting the stole on 3.5 mm needles. Oh yeah, and the best thing is that the yarn is from my stash...I didn't even buy new yarn for the project ;o)

I'm still working on the Chevron Scarf and have also begun Rusted Root - but right now I'm bitten by the Mystery Stole bug ;o)

On a more personal note. I quit my new job...it just didn't work out. This means that I've got 2 months where I'm not doing anything! I do have a plan though:

• Knit a lot
• Read a lot
• Get fit!

I'm already knitting a lot, I've also been reading a lot and today I went to the gym and worked out for 1½ hour...this is going to be a GREAT summer :o)

Attention Danish readers: If you haven't already read "Mænd der hader kvinder" by Stieg Larsson, then do so NOW! It's one of the best books I've ever read - seriously. Do yourself a favour and read read read. I finished it yesterday after having read it in one go!

Sidste uge på jobbet

Kære Randi

Et stort tillykke med dine flotte karakterer og din nye smarte telefon.

Så er jeg begyndt på den sidste uge i Dalby SFO. Det er lidt underligt efter 8 år, men jeg håber, at jeg finder nyt job, når vi flytter til Taastrup.

Jeg er endelig blevet færdig med Annettes Firkanter og er godt tilfreds med resultatet

This is my last week at Dalby SFO. I hope to find a job, when we have moved to Taastrup. I've finished knitting "Annettes Firkanter"

School's finally out!

Dear Mom,

School is finally out for the summer! I got 11 in our project!!! How crazy is that??? Two 11s this semester!!!

To celebrate the great result, I got myself a new cellphone. We had to visit nearly 10 stores before finally finding a store where it wasn't sold out. My new baby is the Samsung U600 (I got it in blue). Here it is together with my WIP - the Chevron scarf. Btw. check out my background picture on the phone...it's my fave guy after Daniel - Wentworth Miller!
